Synopsis

In a near-future Britain, young Alexander DeLarge and his pals get their kicks beating and raping anyone they please. When not destroying the lives of others, Alex swoons to the music of Beethoven. The state, eager to crack down on juvenile crime, gives an incarcerated Alex the option to undergo an invasive procedure that'll rob him of all personal agency. In a time when conscience is a commodity, can Alex change his tune?

Trying to decide between A Clockwork Orange and something shorter. Is the running time part of the appeal here?

aislinginwicklow · 19 Oct 2026, 20:08 UTC

Caoimhe, fair point. There is room for something a bit different in the next six.

A Clockwork Orange is one I am weighing up. Would love to hear a different take too. The interesting picks are often the ones people split on.

Tadhg, a film-club style conversation afterwards could be good, even when people disagree.

For anyone considering A Clockwork Orange: The description has me curious. I would rather know the mood than the whole plot.
