Would Hotarubi no Mori e be a good pick for a mixed group? Trying to find something that gives everyone a way into the conversation.

oisin_nolan · 22 Oct 2026, 15:08 UTC

Niamh, a film-club style conversation afterwards could be good, even when people disagree.

Hotarubi no Mori e is one I am weighing up. Keeping this on the list for a quieter evening rather than trying to squeeze it in.

caoimhewalsh · 22 Oct 2026, 20:08 UTC

Ronan, yes, a spoiler-free discussion would be ideal. I am trying not to look too much up beforehand.

For anyone considering Hotarubi no Mori e: This is the sort of choice I might miss without someone putting it forward.
